About the blog

In this blog, we wanted to create a space where we could tell stories, share photos, and still keep all the important information at your fingertips.

Beginning a travel blog has been an ambition for a long time, as travel is something we are both so passionate about. Our trip to Kyrgyzstan gave us the inspiration as to what kind of blog we wanted to create, and how we could make our blog stand out from the crowd. In the lead-up to Kyrgyzstan, we had spent hours pouring over forums and blog-posts trying to plan our oh-too-short 14 day trip. When we were there, we learned so much as we went along, and it seemed a shame for this information just to be lost, as it could be so useful to future travellers. It’s not always easy to get to grips with how things work when you’re faced with an entirely new language, culture and way of doing things, and just two weeks to get the most out of your holiday. So, we decided to tell our story, as well as some of our past adventures, and hopefully many future ones! We want other travellers to make the most of all the time and effort we put into planning our own trips, and enjoy every single moment of the journey.  We know from experience that planning for a big trip can be stressful and tedious, and we hope that our advice makes it a much more exciting prospect for you!

When planning a trip, we often find that it is really time consuming to look through forums, blogs and travel guides just to find one single piece of information. We love reading travellers’ stories, but when it comes to planning, we like to stay focused. The goal for our blog was to create a handy site with useful information about trip planning from A-Z, everything from flights and hotels, to meet-ups and activities. Once you’ve got the basics all there in front of you, you can deepen your knowledge by clicking on our ‘further reading’ links.

When we travel, we like to jot down key information that we learn along the way, and we’ve collated these notes into the ‘at a glance’ sections of our blog, so that they are easy to access for others planning their trip. We’ve still kept the personal touch in journal-style entries for anyone who wishes to know a little more about our holiday ‘in detail.’

Everything from planning apps to cheap flights, currency exchange to accommodation reviews, there’s plenty of tips to get your planning started. If it’s inspiration you’re after, take a look at our photographs, diary entries and interactive itinerary maps to see what we’ve been up to.

Why Holidays2Gether?

Holidays because currently we both work full-time so we are only able to escape the daily routine and discover some beautiful destinations on weekends or when we book some days off work.

2 because we are a couple and adventures with your soulmate are absolutely amazing!

Together because we would like to share our trips and the things we’ve learned along the way, to help you create unforgettable experiences of your own. This blog isn’t just about the two of us, but it rather a useful starting point for everyone’s next trip. We’re all in it together!
